We love shrooms. They're high in health benefits (physically, mentally, spiritually 👁️) + high in flavor as well.

In this recipe, throw together different types of mushrooms for a variety of textures and flavors.

Cooked dry over high heat on the stovetop then mixed with Kusî sisig seasoning + red onion + egg = consuming more cups of rice than we planned.

Mushroom Sisig

Serves 2-3 or 1 person who really loves mushrooms. Serve with rice.


  • 1.5 tbs Kusî sisig seasoning

  • 1 lb mixed mushrooms, shiitake recommended

  • 1/2 medium red onion, diced

  • 1 egg (optional)


  1. Dry wipe any dirt off mushrooms and chop into small pieces.

  2. Heat cast iron over high heat.

  3. Sear mushrooms until golden brown, pressing down to get them crispy. Turn off heat.

  4. Add Kusî seasoning and egg, mix well while hot.

  5. Top with red onion and serve with rice.
